Interactive Media
One part of the IT industry is increasing in size and importance: interactive media. What's that? In a nutshell: video games, social media and other ways of engaging viewers and users. In 2007, the region had more than 150 interactive media companies and a 14 percent global market share in this industry—which is growing at an estimated 30% each year (enterpriseSeattle).
In 2009, the WDC and enterpriseSeattle worked with a group of industry leaders to identify the jobs in interactive media and foster job training to fill those jobs. The result was our Interactive Media Career Map below.
